The 2019 Oracle Gala promises to be a truly historic event. There will be an open bar, hors d’oevres, a DJ, and much more! The Oracle Gala is the flagship annual fundraiser for the LGBT+ Archives Project of Louisiana. Each year at the Oracle Gala, the organization honors individuals and organizations who have contributed substantially to permanently preserving Louisiana LGBT+ history. This year’s Oracle Gala honors Valda Lewis, who co-produced a New Orleans LGBT+ themed TV show called Just for the Record. With funding from the Archives Project, that entire series has been digitized and made available for future generations by the Amistad Research Center. Some of this footage will be screened for the first time in decades at the gala. The gala will be held on Saturday, August 14, 7:00-10:00 p.m. at the New Orleans Jazz Market (1436 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70113).
